Life skills
Our life skills programmes empower you to build confidence, resilience, and practical skills for everyday life and future independence.
Through engaging, real-world learning, you will be motivated to develop positive habits, recognise your achievements and take meaningful steps towards a brighter, more independent future.
Our programmes also provide ‘earn as you learn’ incentive rewards for taking part, which are paid into your long term savings account (where possible).
“I think ‘Earn whilst you learn’ is a great idea because it combines gaining experience, developing skills, and earning money at the same time. This made me more motivated to complete the programmes.”

-
Yes, you are welcome to do both programmes and benefit from the transferable skills and financial rewards.
-
Yes, we require you to sign up to the programmes yourself using a personal email address – this is so we can contact you when you turn 18 to discuss your savings accounts and incentive payments!
-
This is due to our wider contract with Department for Education, where we administer long term savings accounts for children and young people in care. Local Authorities can only submit young peoples data to us at The Share Foundation once this 12month period has been reached, so until this time we can not verify the young person.

Our life skills programmes are incentivised, which means that you can ‘earn as they learn’. Where possible we, The Share Foundation, will deposit any financial rewards directly into your savings account.
When we are not able to do this, for example if we do not hold the details of a your Child Trust Fund, we will hold onto the rewards until you turn 18. We will then get in contact with you and ask for a bank statement so we can complete a bank transfer of the rewards.Remember: account providers will close accounts for contributions in the weeks prior to your 18th birthday. So if you are very close to turning 18 when completing , we will transfer rewards by bank transfer.
