The Share Foundation - Life Skills - Stepladder of Achievement and Stepping Forward

Our Stepladder of Achievement programme has been providing financial education for young people in care for over eight years.

It is a free-to-use resource which has contributed over £1,250,000 to savings accounts for nearly 1,500 young people in care via Stepladder Plus, the incentivised version of the programme.

Did you know the incentivised version of the programme is open to applicants from every local authority and health trust throughout the UK? As from 1st March 2025, young people in care aged 15-17 can earn up to £750 to be added to their savings account (note: for Scottish local authorities the former ‘up to £1,500’ limit will continue to apply).

If you have an interest in the future financial knowledge and wellbeing of children in care please watch an edition of the seminar on YouTube to find out how The Share Foundation can assist in this important area (note: please note that the above paragraph sets out current incentive level arrangements).

Stepping Forward is an online pre-recorded virtual programme with interactive elements for care-experienced young people aged 13-17 years, who have been in care for at least 12 months consecutively. The programme is accessible from phones, laptops or tablets by young people.

The performing arts are special in their ability to combine enjoyment, opportunity, and a positive experience of social relationships. They involve not only delivering a message but also resonating with the experiences, values, and emotions of those listening — learning how to share. And they also provide a wide range of transferable skills for many other occupations and career paths
